From the South
The nearest big village is Rothbury if you are coming from the south take the A1 north past Newcastle then take the A697 Coldstream road north for about 8 miles. Then left onto the B6344 for about 5 miles then left onto B6341 into Rothbury. Carry on through the village and the next village of Thropton heading west then you go through a farm and it’s a right hand turn on a left bend signed to Alwinton and Harbottle. After driving about 5 long miles you get to Harbottle drive through the village then over two bridges. After the second bridge and before you get to Alwinton village turn right towards Clennell hall. Carry on along this road you will see Clennell Hall Hotel on the right and the burn on your left. Follow the road over a cattle grid the tarmac now turns to a red forestry track follow this into a remote looking valley (you will think you are lost at this point but keep cool and follow the track)continue along the track over numerous bridges over the burn for about 2 miles eventually the forest comes into site. Drive into forest stay right (ignoring left up to Kidlandlee then head down deeper into forest. A small grass camping field is situated at the bottom of the hill on the right if you want hard stand for a caravan or moterhome follow the track past the camping over a concrete ford then turn right and follow this track 100m through the gate and around the corner. For general parking instead of turning right over the ford basically find a spot straight on, on the side of the track (ensure we can still get emergency vehicles and forest trucks through). Please don’t park beyond the forest gate or the second ford!
Look out for NDH signs red lettering on white board to guide you in.

Thanks for taking the time to race with us this weekend.
We hope to prove to the land owner that we can be responsible enough to organise more events in the forest.
Please take on the following simple rules to ensure the land owners wishes are respected :
Don’t drop litter use skips and bins provided .This includes tear offs and clipped zip ties. If you use the skips try and ensure the litter wont blow out.
Fires are only allowed in the camping field!
Keep fires and bbq’s under control at all times and don’t leave them unattended.
Only use designated camping and parking areas and don’t obstruct any access.
Don’t wash your bikes or pollute the streams in any way.
Don’t expect a phone signal.
The nearest good shop is about 20mins drive away in Rothbury so please carry in what you will need for the weekend.
We will be policing these rules but if everyone polices them we can prove to the land owners that we are all able to enjoy ourselves without impacting on the environment.
Descent Gear will be here on Saturday but not Sunday!
We will have a burger van on site all weekend they hope to be open just after 8:00am ready for breakfast both days.
Food and drink is available at Clennell Hall and The Rose and Thistle.
We hope to have Rockstar here but they have not confirmed yet. Whichever way Im sure there should be some cans knocking about.
Try to use local facilities and let people know where you are from and why you are in the area. This ticks boxes for us and helps the local economy.
Enjoy the weekend and good luck.
For the record the land owners where very happy with the round 1 event thanks!
